Our aim is to make child labor socially and culturally unacceptable. We work with state authorities & civil society organizations to free children engaged in labor. We have been instrumental in the creation of a national child protection system.

The Foundation aim is that no child remains deprived of education as “Children are the future of the nation”. Right to Education act has been implemented in the country and the state as well, and now we will have to ensure that its benefits reach to the children engaged in child labour."   • June 12 was observed as World Day against Child Labor.

  • India has the largest number of child labourers under the age of 14 in the world.

  • The official figure of child laborers worldwide is 13 million.

  • The International Labor Organization estimates that 218 million children ages 5-17 are engaged in child labor the world over.

What can be done about child labour?

  • Primary education should be free, compulsory, well-resourced, relevant and nearby.

  • Provide educational facilities and better living standards for child labourers.

  • Couples without children urged to adopt children who have been forced to work at a tender age.

The problem of the child labors is increasing very rapidly. The elders of the family are forcing the children to work in adverse areas like cracker factory, domestic helper, worker in the local tea shop and other places. They are deprived of education and the worst thing is that they are losing their childhood which is very precious. The reason for this is poverty. Poor people do not have enough money to bring up their children and educate them. So they send them for work as this helps them to earn little money. Citizens of India should come forward to check such activities.

Childhood is the most innocent stage in a human life. It is that phase of life where a child is free from all the tensions, fun-loving, play and learns new things. Let us all take some step in this direction so that we can bring smiles to many faces and make this world a beautiful place for a child to live in.
